ABOUT US

How it all started

I came across this house by chance and fell head over heels in love with the place.  With lovely large original windows and a light and airy feel to the house, Saddlers was my dream home and I could see the potential of converting it into a B&B. After an intense four months of renovation and with bags full of passion, enthusiasm, vision, determination and hard work, I greeted our first guests for Goodwood Revival in September 2017 and have never looked back since.

What makes us different?

I think the simple answer is that we love our guests and our guests love us. My aim was to design boutique hotel style rooms within the welcoming atmosphere of a family home, and I use locally sourced farm produce for our renowned cooked breakfasts. We receive glowing testimonials and have regular repeat guests, several from overseas. Saddlers is in a prime location for guests to explore all that West Sussex has to offer and via social media we give regular updates about life at Saddlers and upcoming local events.

ORIGINS

This property is a delightful family home built in 1901 on the edge of the community. The main house was originally built by the village saddler, Mr Frederick Ewens and parts of the house were set up as his workshop. Luckily for us, we have lots of historic images of the house and village for those that are interested to learn more.
